We care about our people and offer a comprehensive salary and benefits package.  Employees are paid weekly and receive 2 paid breaks per shift, safety shoe and glass allowances are also provided.  We offer tuition reimbursement and a 401k program with 50% company match up to 6%.


Paid Time Off

New hires are eligible for paid time off after 60 days and continue to accrue vacation based on years of service up to a maximum of 4 weeks.  In addition, we offer 10 paid holidays and 2 paid personal days which are available to be used in 1-hour increments.

KSM provides a full insurance package including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance.  We also provide company paid short term disability and employees are eligible for these programs following 60 days of employment.

With a commitment to excellence, and customer satisfaction, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Engineer to join our team.  This role will focus on expanding our customer base within select target markets, specifically targeting regional Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).   As a Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding our market presence.  The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of success in a commercial role with experience in metal fabrication and welding industries preferred. Welding Applications:

Provide leadership and oversight with regards to all welding equipment and operations which includes the implementation of manual, robotic and laser welding processes and procedures.  This position will also perform engineering assignments relative to the collaborative development and design of tools, dies, fixtures and jigs for welding applications.  Duties include analyzing operational requirements, designs, dimensions, materials and specifications regarding tooling and fixture decisions for all robotic and manual welding processes and support for KSM welding associates on quality and productivity improvements.  Knowledge of Solid works preferred as additionally this position may work with the design team and estimating in preparation of drawings, cost estimates, etc.

Robotics Applications:

This position would be actively involved in expanding the company’s efforts with regards to identification and implementation of automated welding solutions, including project reviews and equipment selection.   Once procured, this person will also lead and support the programming activities by demonstrating the ability to organize and formulate programs for weld robots and “cobots”.  This role could expand into other automation applications as well.

Key Duties:

  • Discover, develop, and deliver manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost within our welding value stream.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to analyze data that identifies manufacturing process improvement opportunities, prioritize manufacturing process improvement development activities and defining implementation roadmaps.
  • Develop a partnership with Design Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering in related Design for Welding activities and development of engineering/drafting standards to support process and automation implementations and the sustained use of the assets in current production and through NPD launches.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, and Leadership team to create a strategy that utilizes and leverages our core investments to drive increased return on assets, including working with manufacturing leaders on strategies for value flow activities, effective labor utilization, skills identification and skills development supporting automation.
  • Encourage and educate leaders through pioneering techniques to accelerate adoption of new, advanced manufacturing technologies.

Key Skills:

  • Robotic Controls engineering experience, with knowledge of Miller Perform Arc and Fanuc robotic systems preferred.
  • Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering along with a minimum of 2+ years Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering, or related Operational roles experience
  • Minimum 5+ years in light sheet metal fabrication and welding experience
  • Sound understanding and experience in leading continuous improvement of processes. 
  • Strong experience in new welding technologies, including robotics, and machine programming.
  • Demonstrated experience in Design for Manufacturability & Assembly (DFM/A)
  • Relative experience with Automation capital equipment, sheet metal fabrication, and knowledge on equipment maintenance.

CWI preferred

This position includes conveyor line (continuous) paint line operations, requiring the Helper to load, mask, unload, stack & wrap finished parts, as well as supporting batch system prepping for larger items to be painted.  There are times when you will work in teams and others when you are working alone. Ability to work with hoists and lift assists, as well as manual lift requirements of up to 35 pounds. Print reading a plus.

Duties include:

Able to review prints and related documentation to perform the following tasks: drill and tap operations, hardware component insertion, machine load/unload, shearing machine operation, sheet metal rolling, and assist in department as required. Previous use of measuring devices a plus.

Duties include:

Ability to set up and operate manual welding equipment, interpret blueprints, ensure quality control, and work together with team members to meet production goals. Primarily MIG welding on mild steel from 20 gauge up to 1/4-inch thickness. Stainless and aluminum welding competency a bonus. You’ll also be responsible for basic machine maintenance, optimizing welding sequences, following standard work, and performing one over one inspection with fellow welders. Use of precision and conventional measuring tools is required, in addition to following all safety rules and safe working practices.
